Community Climate Conversation

A Community Discussion about Issues affecting us Today

Sea level rise, shifting seasons, extreme weather, coastal resilience, mitigation, and adaptation... These climate change buzzwords are common in our daily lives, but do we really understand what they mean or how they will impact our lifestyles?

While the science can be overwhelming, it doesn’t take a degree in climatology to have an opinion about something that will affect each of us in our everyday lives.

We want to hear from you! The UF/IFAS Brevard County Extension and USF Department of Anthropology have invited you to take part in a Climate Community Conversation. We will utilize a nationally vetted framework from the Kettering Institute and the National Environmental Issues Forum. Your participation and feedback will help to inform a larger regional and state-wide effort!

After an introductory presentation, you will participate in small group discussions about the potential effects of climate change in the Space Coast region. Your input will help us understand your thoughts on this important issue and how we can better communicate with you about climate change.

Light refreshments will be provided. Please only RSVP if you definitely plan on attending since particpation is limited.
